Bõln is a new furniture brand for contract spaces whose collections are designed and produced with a new technology: Flexyskin. The robust and compact pieces resulting from this technology made from plant-based polyurethane foam present an innovative organic and colorful aesthetic, with a soft touch and comfortable rest. Developed by Poliuretanos Rivas, a Zaragoza company specialized in the injection of polyurethane foam for more than 40 years, Flexyskin allows the production of resistant, watertight and waterproof volumes, especially efficient for collective spaces and outdoor environments. In addition, its surfaces incorporate certified antifungal and antibacterial properties.
Poliuretanos Rivas is a company with extensive experience in the development of industrial equipment for third parties. Consequently, the launch of Bõln meant the creation of its own brand, through which to market the collections designed and manufactured with Flexyskin. Narita has been in charge of the comprehensive creation of the Bõln brand and articulating its market launch strategy, generating all the necessary communication pieces, from social networks to the launch event.
To create the brand, Narita looked for a name and a graphic solution with Nordic connotations, in line with the style of the firm's furniture collections. The brand also had to reflect the soft touch and the ability to generate organic designs that Flexyskin technology provides, as these are the most distinctive features of the products. Once the brand was defined, all additional applications of the corporate identity were developed and the narrative style around the signature and technology was finalized.
In this first phase, the implementation of the Bõln brand also included the design of the website and commercial materials such as catalogues, product sheets and dossiers. To this end, Narita was in charge of the art direction of the photographic material of the collections in collaboration with Stone Designs, the studio responsible for the design of Bõln's first product lines. Likewise, at an audiovisual level, Narita created specific clips and pieces for digital media and publications on social networks. The implementation of this strategy remains ongoing, as the company needs new applications as it is introduced into the market after its launch in November 2020.
