Cybersecurity is one of the great challenges of our time. All of our daily activity takes place in one way or another in a digital environment, with a dimension that ranges from the work sphere to the personal and leisure spheres, whose limits are also diffuse and fluid. Its ability to make our lives easier has, at the same time, a dark, unintelligible and non-transparent side, which exposes us more easily than we think to suffering an attack or data disclosure. For this reason, for surveillance, threat detection, business promotion and cybersecurity training, the Andalusian Government has created the Andalusian Cybersecurity Center.
Apart from its value as an acronym, the word Cyan provided us with the perfect framework for the use of the blue tone of the same name, evocative of the color of the sea and the clear, luminous skies so characteristic of Andalusia. For the logo, we designed a sign that, on the one hand, refers to a fortress and can function on its own as an isotype, while, on the other, it has the ability to adopt a typographic character representing the letter c. Likewise, we opt for a synthetic and direct phrase as a tagline, which perfectly defines the center's activity: Cyan, trust and security in the Andalusian digital space. The center carries out two very different activities. Located in a building in the port of Malaga, the ground floor is the most social and operates as a meeting point for companies specialized in the cybersecurity sector, also offering training for workers, startups and the general public. On the upper floor, however, is the operations center for cybersecurity surveillance of the Junta de Andalucía, with restricted access. For this reason, Narita additionally proposed that both activities be differentiated, creating, based on the general brand proposal, a graphic version for each one that would help distinguish and identify them, at the level of communication and in the environment of the building itself. The result is a versatile and flexible identity that transmits not only the values and mission of the center but also the uniqueness of each space and activity, which, on the other hand, have different needs for graphic elements. Therefore, the implementation of the identity required the development of multiple supports, from stationery and corporate materials to advertising and dissemination pieces, merchandising, applications on social networks and other digital environments, photography art direction, and all signage. and building signage.
